Overview

Caelo App UI Design

Creation and development of the photo-sharing and social media app Caelo. Developed in Figma, I created comprehensive user interface designs for several pages, as well as animations and connectivity among the pages. Complete with several profile page examples, personal messages, explore and search page, and of course the register and login page variations.

I designed this with my pre-established user profile in mind, which was more or less the typical social media user, as in somebody ranging in age from 15 to mid to late 30s. I also aimed to make Caelo appeal more to professional photographers, by having a planned review process and strict guidelines for images posted, to differentiate it from similar applications such as Instagram. Furthermore, Caelo is targeted at those who have an interest in photography, but also those who take it more seriously and wish to be amongst like-minded users on the app.

The name Caelo is based on the Latin word “Caelum”, meaning “sky”. I wanted to use Latin to base the application name on because I feel as though Latin has long been associated with being scholarly and pedagogical, which is something I wished to associate Caelo with as well, as an environment where professional landscape and nature photographers could share their work and learn more about the craft.
